Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

This policy is being finalized. If you have a question about how OpenVoting handles your information, please contact us.

Information We Collect

Account details you provide (name, email, password or Google sign-in), election content you create (titles, candidates, voter lists), and payment details processed by Stripe. Voters are identified by email address for the purpose of delivering a ballot.

How We Use Information

To run the elections you create, deliver ballots to voters, process payments, respond to support requests, and keep the service secure.

Voter Data

Voter email addresses are used only to send ballot invitations for the election they were added to. Votes are stored so results can be tallied; the service is designed so that individual ballots are not shown to election managers.

Third-Party Services

Payments are processed by Stripe; emails are sent through Resend; bot protection uses Cloudflare Turnstile; site analytics use Google Tag Manager. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.

Data Retention

Election data is retained while your account is active. You can delete an election, or your account, from the dashboard.

Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your information by using your account settings or contacting us.
